  • 「社会にとって」、でなく、「社会において」:× robots are necessary ... for our present and our future society.→○ robots are necessary ... in today’s society and the future society.
  • 少子高齢化:× society with less children and more elderies→○ aging society with a declining birthrate

These days, robots assist us in various ways and they help us to develop future technology. However, some people fear that the robots could have negative impacts on our lives. In my personal opinion, robots will be evolved furthermore and we will make good use of them more and more since robots are necessary both in today’s society and the future society.

Robots are alternative labor resources especially in aging society with a declining birthrate. There are many jobs which humans would rather leave to robots. The job may be dangerous, such as exploring inside a volcano, or boring, such as domestic cleaning. Furthermore, robots can conduct drudgery instead of humans without getting tired or losing concentration, and thanks to this, people can do more creative jobs. Without robots, lack of labor resources would be more serious problem in some societies.

Nevertheless, some people think robots could affect negatively on the society for the following reasons. First, the rise of robots in our society may cause decreased employment opportunity. It is true some people could lost their jobs, for example drivers of trains, taxis and buses due to practical use of automated drive vehicles in the near future. Second, too much reliance on robots could cause severe problems in downtime or in the case of break down.

Considering both benefits and downsides, I personally think that robots bring us significant benefits and less disadvantages as long as we can control them. Since robots will continuously necessary for our lives in the future, we should consider how to live together with them.
