動物実験 -Animal Experiments- 初稿

In recent years, animal experiments are widely taken place in order to test the medicines’ efficiency and safeness. While some people say that these experiments are inevitable for medical advance and they also bring lots of benefit for human, others argue that these testing are so cruel and unethical that they should be banned immediately. In my personal opinion, there is an urgent needs to stop experiments on animals.

Those who stand by the opinion that animal experiment is necessary emphasize the following benefits. First, if we test underdeveloped medicines or products on humans, they could harm the human subjects. Second, in animal testing, it costs by far less than testing on humans. Finally, experimenters can obtain more subjects more easily in animal testing compared to that of humans. Standing upon above mentioned reasons, some people agree with animal experiments.

On the other hand, others claim that animal testing should be prohibited immediately since these testing is cruel and unethical way to test medicines’ efficiency. These testing sometimes leads animal to be sick or even die. Instead of animal experimentations, alternative ways (e.g. computer simulation) should be implemented. Moreover, some specialists says that experiments on animals have no meanings since the subject animals such as the mice and human beings are completely different species each other.

Considering both side of this issue, I stand by the opinion that animal testing should be banned immediately and replaced by other less harmful alternatives. No animal should be harmed solely for the benefit of us human beings.
